- Great DVD Review by PA Painter

Rating As with her other DVD, Cascading Water, this autumn landscape DVD is wonderful. Julie's techniques and color palette are once again beautifully and clearly demonstrated. Watercolor artists of all levels can learn something here. I highly recommend.

- Very informative video Review by Jean

Rating I would recommend buying this video. Beginning with a photograph of a landscape, Julie alters the elements in the photo making the scene easier to paint. She teaches a very good technique of first blocking in the darks with an acrylic under painting, allowing the artist to paint with abandon. Further steps include lots of splattering which is great fun.

Rating I highly recommend this video. Julie shares her vast knowledge in making a successful watercolor painting. Beginning with a photo, she alters the elements in the photo in order to make the actual painting process easier. Julie then does a pencil drawing on the watercolor paper, stressing the importance of accurate shape making. She then blocks in the darks with an acrylic under painting, freeing the artist to paint with abandon. Wet on wet technique is used to establish color placement. Further steps include much splattering and splashing which is a lot of fun.
Her vibrant, harmonious color choices make for a spectacular painting.(Posted on 4/28/12)

This instructional DVD is so awful I fell asleep all three times I tried to watch it. Boring and zero inspiration. I'm extremely disappointed with this dvd. I don't get what it is she is trying to do other than let you watch her paint a very boring picture.

In working with Julie on her ArtistsNetwork.TV videos, I learned how important it is to know your subject. Julie spends as much time as she can immersed in the landscapes and waterscapes that she paints so that she can translate emotion and energy to her paintings. Learn how she is able to truely connect with her subject in her exclusive ArtistsNetwork.TV interview here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gGj3h-DwMQU
