Wide Open has a special focus on observation. Instead of sitting in a coffee house and journaling about a favorite memory, learn to sit in the coffee house and take note of what you see, and how sitting at a particular table makes you feel, right then and there. It's very much about being in the moment. Each card in this deck will focus on a technique that goes beyond the norm (such as experimenting with photo decay) and encourages artists and writers to explore an edgier side to their work. Cards are divided into categories such as "my body," "other artists" and "new ways with text." The accompanying notebook has blank space to record observations, as well as colorful artwork and inspirational quotes and prompts sprinkled throughout the pages.
