Follow along with the creation of three evocative landscapes and a range of stunning effects, from sparkling water to sun-dappled snow. In this workshop MacKenzie concentrates on showing you ways to loosen up your style and evoke a strong sense of atmosphere.

You'll learn how to:
* Use torn pieces of sponge to make quick work of trees and distant forests
* Create the magical illusion of sparkling water
* Convincingly achieve the look of fog, reflections on water, and sun-dappled snow * Paint quick skies that set the mood of your painting
* Create intricate effects in no time with a large hog hair brush and dropping in paint
* Use a subtle final glaze to make the viewer see what you want them to see, focus where you want them to focus

Even though Mackenzie's techniques yield exquisite effects (the texture on a tree or the soft, lacy effect of deep forest foliage), there is an overall simplicity to his compositions that is very appealing. You'll love these evocative scenes: a placid lake sparkling in dawn's early light, a mysterious forest stream, and a late afternoon ski trip. Even better, you'll love how easy and straightforward MacKenzie makes it for you to achieve the same effects.

Watercolorist's Essential Notebook Review by Jacqueline Pearson

I've watched this video so many times that I've about worn it out. He's a great teacher...very concise and most informative. I highly recommend it!! I'm waiting for his next one to come out.

Modern Day Master Review by Mark Jaillet

After buying both instructional books of Mr. MacKenzie's, his DVD now completes the trivecta. His laid back casual approach is refreshing. Loved his reference to inexpensive painting tools. This is the kind of DVD that leaves you wanting more!
